PROTECTIVE MEASURES ADOPTED IN THE COMBAT AGAINST COVID-19
Abstract
In January 2020, the world was surprised by the circulation of a new virus that scientists call zoonotic, that is, that can be transmitted from animals to humans. The first reported cases of Covid-19, a disease caused by this new virus, occurred in late 2019 and originated in Wuhan province, China. The exponential increase in cases has led the World Health Organization to declare the situation as a pandemic, prompting governments around the world to take protective measures to control transmission. This essay proposes to provoke a reflection about the general situation of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country and about certain measures and attitudes already adopted by the government and society in its fight. The methodological approach used was qualitative, and started from a bibliographic research to survey academic articles and documents in general that deal with the topic addressed. The selected material was read from a critical analytical perspective.
