WORK AS RESOCIALIZADOR AXIS OF THE PRISON SYSTEM’S EGRESS
Abstract
The Deprivation of Freedom is the most serious of the judicial sanctions in the Brazilian Legal System. The egresses of the Prison System suffer incessantly with the lack of opportunities and stigmas, besides the failure of the resocialization. The present work aimed to analyze the experience of the program "Segunda Chance" (Second Chance), of the NGO Afro Reggae, in what concerns the working assistance given to the egresses of the Prison System. Two samples of ex-convicts facts withdrawn from the archives of the organization (ranging from January 1st 2013 to May 31st 2013, and from January 1st 2014 to May 31st 2014) were analyzed, giving us the possibility to verify that the greatest obstacle the mentioned institution faces to reinsert ex-convicts in the job market is the low schooling and the lack of personal documents, such as the voter registration and the driver's license.
