Abstract
This article aims to present theoretical and analytical contributions of how photography can be a methodology for the cultural “translation process”, related to the epistemological scope of the sociology of absences, proposed by the sociologist Boaventura de Sousa Santos and, as a consequence, expand the photovoice methodology, created by Wang and Burris (1997).
